Poland, officially known as the Republic of Poland, is a country located in Central Europe. Its capital is Warsaw and its population is about 38,434,000.

The Polish flag consists of two horizontal bands of equal width, white on the top and red on the bottom. These two colors are defined as the national colors in the Polish constitution and colors were adopted in 1831. The white color represents peace and hope while the red represents the struggle for freedom. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 5:8 and the current version of the flag was adopted on January 31, 1980.
