Flag of France (GIF)

The national flag of France (French: drapeau français), known as the Tricolore, is a striking design featuring three vertical stripes of equal width. From left to right, the stripes are blue, white, and red. Its origin dates back to the French Revolution, when the colors of the King (white) and the City of Paris (blue and red) were combined. This flag holds profound historical significance, with each color representing different principles of the French Revolution. Blue symbolizes liberty and the pursuit of ideals, white represents equality and the desire for a just society, and red signifies fraternity and the bloodshed during the revolution's struggle for freedom. The Tricolore reflects France's core values of liberty, equality, and fraternity, making it not only a symbol of the nation's history but also a universal emblem of democratic ideals and human rights.

The emblem of France, often referred to as the "Arms of the French Republic," boasts a rich and intricate design. The emblem is characterized by a wide pelte shield that bears a lion's head on one end and an eagle's head on the other, with the letters "RF" for "République Française" in the center. Surrounding the shield, a laurel branch symbolizes the triumph and victory of the French Republic, while an oak branch signifies enduring strength and wisdom. Additionally, the inclusion of the fasces, a bundle of rods with an axe, represents the concept of justice and the power of the state. This emblem reflects France's enduring commitment to its republican values, justice, and the enduring spirit of the nation.

Hello, so I think the GIF needs updating as France's president has changed the blue of the flag to a darker navy shade.

It'd be cool if you could add this as an alternate variant GIF, these are the colours of the flag since 2020, though a lot of wiki pages use the darker coloured flag

I see you didn't add the French Southern and Antarctic Lands flag on there. Can you please add that?

I'm saying you didn't add the French Southern and Antarctic Lands/French Southern Territories flag in the “French flags” list. Please add it.
